Tutorial
noddock is a node-flow style editor. You connect different types of nodes together to build a runnable project or product.
Overview
Every project is a node graph. A node receives inputs from upstream, runs its own task, and passes the result downstream. Node types include remote APIs, local ports, databases, Python, JavaScript, and exec.
You do not need to buy a content-generation service to use the editor. All model calls use your own API keys or local services.
Installation
Download the package for your platform from the homepage or GitHub Releases. macOS 13+ and Windows 10+ are supported. After installation, please read this tutorial and the User Service Agreement.
Nodes
- Remote model nodes: connect to remote LLM services with your own API keys.
- Local port nodes: connect to local services or local model endpoints.
- Database nodes: create, read, and update database records.
- Python nodes: you provide the Python environment; noddock only helps run your custom Python files.
- JavaScript nodes: run custom JS logic, and can be disabled in Safe Mode.
- exec nodes: run system commands. Disabled by default and only available after you explicitly enable Dev Mode in settings.
API
We plan to work with token providers to offer built-in API nodes. In the current version, you can use Bring-Your-Own-Key nodes to call OpenAI-compatible or custom HTTP APIs.
Python / JS
Python nodes do not require you to change your environment; point noddock to your Python path and it will help run your scripts. JS nodes are not executed by default in Safe Mode and should only be enabled when you fully understand the risks.
Safe Mode
noddock enables Safe Mode by default. In Safe Mode, exec nodes and JS inside HTML previews are not run. When running projects shared by others, make sure the source is trusted and understand the risks involved.
Export
The Free plan unlocks all core editing features. The Developer plan (individual / small studio) unlocks project export and allows commercial use of exported projects. The Enterprise plan is priced per seat and includes the same export and commercial license.
